Cataracts
Cataract is where the lens of the eye becomes hazy. The lens usually begins beautifully clear in young people. As we get older, the lens becomes more hazy and this can increase with age. In the early stages, patients do not notice this haziness as it can be compensated for with changes in the glasses prescription. As time goes on, glasses do not help improve the vision with more dense cataract, and this is typically when patients are referred to see an eye surgeon.
